Message or installing it in the engine compartment. This is not a severe duty for a bourdon tube pressure gauge. They have been around for decades and are designed to work in this type of environment.

In the pic, the semi circular tube expands under pressure from the fluid, which in turn pulls the dial (on the backside) around to indicate a calibrated reading. The valve in question has a bronze tube which is very sturdy.
